What is EFT?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or tapping, simply stated, is an emotional version of acupuncture, but without the use of needles. Instead, you tap with your fingertips on key energy meridian points on your face and body. Literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.

All negative emotions that we feel cause a disruption of our body’s energy. The biggest way that we typically feel this is with negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, and overwhelm as well as with actual physical pain and disease. When we have unresolved emotional problems, whether  we are conscious of them or not, they manifest themselves into physical symptoms. Whenever we have physical challenges, they tend to cause further emotional issues.

The body, like everything in the universe, is composed of energy. If you restore balance to the body’s energy, you will mend the negative emotions and physical symptoms that arise from the energy disruption. Tapping restores the body’s energy balance, and negative emotions are wiped out.

Tapping is proving to be a powerful, well-researched and easy to learn and apply technique. The simplicity of the tapping process makes is hard to believe that such amazing results can be achieved wit h this tool.

Some of the benefits of EFT

Benefit #1: EFT decreases excessive cortisol levels and “adrenal fatigue,” and gives your body and mind the ability to return to its natural state of being.  When your energy is restored, you sleep better, feel healthier, your immune system is boosted, your metabolism is restored and your body is in a state where it is able to heal itself.

Benefit #2: The mind/body stress relief you get from tapping in minutes, takes hours, weeks, or months to achieve with meditation, yoga, “talk” therapy, and other treatments.

Benefit #3: If you already practice meditation, yoga, affirmations, and others, tapping can enhance the benefits of those other practices by lowering your cortisol levels much quicker, promoting even deeper relaxation.

  1. Great website! In the near future, I am gearing towards taking the EFT training with IMU which is where I first saw your testamonial. I am interested in eventually opening my own practise and researching as much as I can. If you dont mind me asking…what was your experience like setting up your own practise after the training? I am not sure what to expect! I live in Canada and still have to further research if the EFT certification is compatible/recognized in Canada. Any thoughts? Thank you!

      Hi Chrystal!
You will not regret getting your EFT certification. I have learned many tools over the years but EFT is still my absolute favorite. It can literally help with any problem, emotional issue, trauma, pain, stress, etc. I have a daughter with severe anxiety and it has been life changing for her. As far as starting a practice, do you have meetup groups around you? I joined groups that were geared around mindfulness, small business, holistic modalities, etc., and that is where I found most of my clients and then it becomes word of mouth. It is also great if you can shift things for family members or friends and they too can spread the word. If you know someone who is really struggling, has tried many other modalities to heal but nothing has worked, you could offer tapping with them for so many sessions for free and then using their testimonial and of course everyone who interacts with that person will ask them what they did to shift things and they will tell them about EFT. Again, it comes down to word of mouth. Good luck! Keep me posted and let me know how things are going. Feel free to reach out any time!
