In order to effectively start managing your stress you need to be able to identify your stress triggers. There are two kinds of triggers, external and internal.
External stressors are events or situations that happen to you. Some examples would be:
- Your work environment
- Your boss
- Financial issues
- Relationship issues
- Loss of a loved one
Internal stressors are more self-induced. Some examples would be:
- Chronic worry
- Pessimism
- Perfectionism
- Negative self-talk
- Unable to forgive
