What if you could perform a simple daily act that could help you live longer, healthier and feel more energetic?

You can!

All you need to do is improve your Vagal tone.

I can hear you now………what the heck is a Vagal tone?

Your Vagus nerve is the longest nerve in your body. It is the master controller of your immune cells, organs and stem cells. It is part of the parasympathetic nervous system which is also referred to as the rest and digest.

It connects the brain, neck, ears, tongue, throat, gut, heart, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, kidney, ureter and spleen.

The Vagus nerve increases stomach acid and digestive enzyme production so you can efficiently break down all of the foods you eat in your diet.

Many people have to take digestive enzymes and medication for heartburn, GERD or other stomach issues but people have been able to eliminate those by increasing their Vagal tone.

The Vagus nerve also lowers blood pressure. If you are suffering with high blood pressure and possibly taking medications to control it, you probably do not have an optimal Vagal tone.

There are many other things that could also be a sign of low Vagal tone like depression, fatigue, brain fog, food sensitivities, anxiety, migraines or tinnitus.

Having a higher Vagal tone means your body relaxes faster after stress which keeps your immune cells working at their best!

So how do you raise your Vagal tone?

Watch my video and find out how easy it is!

How awesome is it that by humming throughout the day, you could be increasing your life span?

If you take the time to stimulate your vagus nerve on a daily basis just think about all of the health benefits you could experience with no side effects!

There are so many simple ways to stimulate your Vagus nerve and remain in that parasympathetic state.

  • Laughter
  • Humming
  • Slow deep breathes
  • Chanting
  • Singing
  • Tai Chi/Qi Gong
  • Taking a cold shower
  • Gargling
  • Doing a heart meditation

When your Vagus nerve is properly stimulated you can:

  • Quickly turn off stress
  • Sharpen you memory
  • Fight inflammatory disease
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Help with anxiety and depression
  • Control allergic responses
  • Have less tension headaches
  • Help your brain create new brain cells

So what are you waiting for?

Are you humming now?

The best part about humming is that it does not take any additional time out of your day. You can do it on the drive to work, in the shower, cleaning your house, walking your dog, etc. Humming while preparing dinner can increase gastric secretions, lower cortisol levels (stress hormone) and prepare your digestive system for the incoming food. Again, a great idea for those people depending on medications to help relieve gut issues.

If you decide to try the 4 square breathing start by inhaling through your nose for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold again for seconds and then repeat by inhaling for another 4 seconds. I would start by trying to so this sequence for 6-10 times a couple times a day. This is a great way to reset your brain, focus more clearly, lower your heart rate, blood pressure and put your body in a calm and relaxed state!

Optimal health depends on an optimal Vagal tone, so which one of the Vagal tone stimulation methods are you willing to add to your daily routine? Please share!
