Suffering with TMJ or Bruxism? Try this!

My dentist told me that I am really hard on my teeth! I was not sure what she meant by this. She then proceeded to tell me that I must grind or clench my teeth at night because I am literally wearing away my back teeth. She said it is called bruxism. I was kind of shocked by this.

Every once in awhile I would wake up with a sore jaw, but was never aware that I was  grinding them or clenching them so excessively while I slept.  She suggested I get a mouthguard made so I could wear it at night.

I did end up getting the mouthguard, but decided to really set the intention weekly to help alleviate the tension I must hold in my jaw muscles. I settled on a few massage/acupressure techniques that have really seemed to help.

Watch my video to find out how to relieve your TMJ or Bruxism.

Many people I talk to who suffer with TMJ disorder have severe pain and discomfort. They describe things like their jaw locking, tenderness in the jaw area, clicking or popping sound when they open their mouth to chew, swelling on the side of their face and problems chewing or opening their mouth wide. It can really be debilitating.

I created this video in the hopes that it may give people some relief if they suffer with TMJ disorder or bruxism. I would love for you to give it a try and share your feedback. It is obviously something you have to do on a weekly basis so your jaw muscles get used to feeling relaxed more often.
